AT '18 "Sunny, Mossy Paradise"

Day #12 Muskrat Creek Shelter to Beech Gap

March 20, 2018

This morning after packing up, Knope and I decided to go to Standing Indian Shelter and see how we're feeling and how the weather was looking due to impending storms and snow. Sparky caught up to us and we sat and ate lunch and waited for the rest to show up while drying out our wet gear. The morning had been beautiful, mossy, sunny and flat, but at the shelter we were freezing.

A group decision was made to head four more miles to Beech Gap to tent for the night. It felt like a long four miles but eventually we got here and got set up in a nice grove of rhododendrons. We ate supper and sat by the campfire for awhile with a guy named Half Packed, two other guys and a dog Bixby. The sky got super dark so we're in the tent just hanging out until bedtime. No service so I can't let Mom and Gagoo know where we're camping tonight. Hope they don't worry too much.
