AT '18 "RIP my Knee"
Day #5 - Zero Day at Blood Mountain Cabins
March 13, 2018
This morning when I rolled out of bed, I felt like a cadaver. I was so stiff. It took me three times as long as normal to get down the steps to the living room of the cabin. I called Mom and complained. She looked at the weather and told me it was going to be in the 20s tonight. All she had to do was mention the fact that I should take a zero before I was sold. I went down to the office to reserve my cabin for another night and pick up some frozen waffles and apple juice.
I sat and ate while scrolling Instagram on their wifi. I watched That 70s Show and Scrubs all morning while icing my knee and doing absolutely nothing. Eventually I limped down to Mountain Crossings to resupply for tomorrow. I got back to my cabin and dumped out all of my goodies only to realize I had forgotten to buy KT Tape for my knee. I dejectedly limped my way back to the store, cursing myself. But guess who was there- Nikki! I would've never even seen her if her friend Ben hadn't come over to chat in the store. Ben is already going home so Nikki and I made plans to hike out together and leave in the morning.
I snacked all day while watching TV and had wings for supper. The sun was out all day and i laid in it on the porch feeling it soak into my skin. I’ll never take advantage of this feeling again.
Two girls from Germany are rooming with me tonight to help split the cost. I went down to Nikki's (now Knope) cabin to hang out for the night. Krazy Korean named her Knope because she acts like Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec lol.
I stood on the balcony with Krazy Korean and Jake the Dog and smoked some as we watched people meander to the store on the driveway below us. After dark I headed back to my cabin for bed. My knee is really worrying me. I'm hoping the KT tape helps.
